This style is call Maki-e, a traditional Japanese decorating technique from the Edo period. Each pearl is decorated by hand using a combination of Urushi lacquer, gold paint and abalone shell. This beautiful and unique Tahitian Pearl is 17.3 X 14.2mm, which is a very substantial size. This Pearl Pendant has so much presence. It is finished with a 14K bail and 18” chain.
