The Big Pink Pearl

The Big Pink Pearl

The Big Pink Pearl was discovered in 1990 and weighs a stunning 470 carats, which is equal to 94 grams. The BPP is an abalone pearl found by the diver Wesley Rankin. In 1991, it was valued at...

$4.7 million and listed in the Guiness Book of World Records as the largest natural abalone pearl ever found. However, in 2010, Dat Vi Truong found a 718.5 carat abalone pearl in Mendocino California and now holds the World Record.

The abalone pearls are some of the most beautiful pearls for their color, luster, and brilliance from very thick layers of nacre.

The Big Pink Pearl has stayed with Wesley Rankin, who is thought to be the largest abalone dealer in the world.
